Seneca was a Roman Stoic philosopher, dramatist and political figure under the Julio-Claudian emperors.

Lucius Annaeus Seneca wrote philosophical essays, letters and tragedies, while also serving as adviser to Nero. His works address anger, mercy, death, exile, wealth, power and the discipline of the self under unstable political conditions.
