Rozsa Gaston is an American author of historical fiction whose work concentrates on politically influential women of late medieval and Renaissance Europe. She studied European history at Yale University and received a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University. Before becoming a novelist, she worked for Institutional Investor magazine and wrote as a columnist for The Westchester Guardian. Her fiction seeks to restore women such as Anne of Brittany, Margaret of Austria and Marguerite d’Angoulême to the centre of dynastic and diplomatic history.

Gaston is best known for the four-volume Anne of Brittany series, which follows Anne from her inheritance of Brittany through her marriages to Charles VIII and Louis XII and her struggle to preserve Breton interests within the French monarchy. Her other books include Sense of Touch, set at Anne’s court; Marguerite and Gaston, about Marguerite d’Angoulême and Gaston de Foix; and Margaret of Austria, centred on the Habsburg regent and diplomat. Her later Anne Boleyn Chronicles reconstruct Anne Boleyn’s formative years at the courts of Margaret of Austria and the French queens before her return to Tudor England.
