Ministry and Crucifixion of Jesus
27–33 CE
Jesus preached, gathered followers and became known as a teacher and healer in Galilee and Judaea. His activities were interpreted in different ways by followers, opponents and later Christian writers.
He was arrested in Jerusalem and crucified under the Roman prefect Pontius Pilate, most likely around AD 30. The surviving accounts combine historical setting with theological interpretation.
King Jesus retells this life while replacing traditional Christian explanations with Graves's own speculative ideas about royal descent, ritual and ancient religion.
