The Crossing
Yancey Tremayne, the son of an Amish man and a Cheyenne woman, rejects his father's plan to rejoin the Amish community and instead takes up studies at a local military school under the direction of Thomas Jackson.
Set against First Battle of Bull Run, the story combines Confederate military service, romance and Christian moral conflict, distinguishing fictional protagonists from the documented commanders they encounter.
