When a young claimant appears in Europe asserting that he is Richard of Shrewsbury, one of the missing Princes in the Tower, Grace is drawn into the struggle between Henry VII and Margaret of York. Her search for the claimant’s identity also forces her to examine the loyalties and silences within her own family. The novel combines the documented Perkin Warbeck rebellions with an invented investigation, using Grace’s uncertain position to revisit the fate of the princes and the consolidation of Tudor rule.
