Their journey crosses the steppe toward the burial place of Attila, where rival treasure hunters and women sworn to guard the grave close around them. The Oathsworn also encounter the gifted young prince Olaf, known as Crowbone, whose ambitions and stories will connect their private feud to the future struggle for Norway.
