While awaiting the birth of her child, Georgie hosts a house party at Eynsleigh to welcome Sir Hubert home and introduce her new French chef. A visiting Gothic novelist later borrows the chef for a banquet at his nearby manor, whose grounds include a carefully maintained poison garden.
