Romulus

Romulus was the legendary founder and first king of Rome. Tradition links him with the killing of Remus, the establishment of the city, the abduction of the Sabine women and Rome’s earliest wars.

In non-fiction, Romulus is discussed in Livy’s History of Rome. In Livy’s History of Rome, it begins with foundation legend, Trojan ancestry, Romulus, the kings of Rome and the expulsion of monarchy, then follows the early Republic through social conflict, war with neighbouring peoples and the Gallic sack of Rome.
