Ramesses II was a pharaoh of the Nineteenth Dynasty and one of the most extensively commemorated rulers of ancient Egypt. He fought the Hittites at Kadesh, later concluded a major peace treaty and filled Egypt with temples, statues and inscriptions presenting a long and victorious reign.

Ramesses II died in Pi-Ramesses. Ramesses II also held the offices or ranks of Saqqara king and Pharaoh of the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt. Ramesses II belonged to the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt.
