John Adams

1735–1826

John Adams was an American revolutionary leader, diplomat and second president of the United States. He advocated independence, negotiated abroad and later faced conflict with France and fierce domestic partisanship during his presidency.

John Adams also held the offices or ranks of United States Ambassador to the Netherlands, Vice President of the United States, United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom, and United States Ambassador to France. John Adams belonged to the Adams family and operated within United States; Thirteen Colonies. John Adams was born in Braintree and died in Quincy.
