Around 1903, Nevada returns from years of wandering through Oregon, California and Arizona hoping to build an honest life and claim a future with the woman he loves. His reputation and past violence have not disappeared, however, and trouble on the range soon forces him back into a world of rustlers, old obligations and men who expect him to answer threats with a gun.

Nevada wants to prove that he can live differently, but protecting the people and land that now matter to him may require the very skills he is trying to leave behind.
