Logan Sackett is a rootless drifter with little interest in settling other people’s disputes until he meets Emily Talon, an elderly widow defending her ranch against neighbours who believe they can force her off the land. Em is stubborn enough to fight alone, but Logan’s attitude changes when he discovers that she was born a Sackett and therefore belongs to the extended family whose loyalties he takes seriously.
