In New South Wales in 1788, the transport Lady Penrhyn brings more than one hundred female convicts to the new settlement at Port Jackson. Among them is a young woman calling herself Mary Murphy, while marine officer Daniel Bradbury is responsible for maintaining order during the difficult transition from ship to shore.
Daniel’s protection draws him towards Mary, but her assumed identity threatens the trust between them.
