Bryan M. Litfin is an American theologian, historian and author whose fiction focuses on early Christianity and the Roman Empire. He holds a doctorate in Religious Studies from the University of Virginia and has taught theology and church history at Moody Bible Institute and Liberty University. His academic work on the early Church provides the historical and theological foundation for novels concerned with persecution, conversion and the growth of Christianity in the ancient Mediterranean world.

Litfin is best known for the Constantine’s Empire trilogy, beginning with The Conqueror and continuing with Every Knee Shall Bow and Caesar’s Lord. Set during the reign of Constantine the Great, the series follows Christians, Roman soldiers and political leaders through the empire’s transformation from a persecutor of Christianity into its most powerful supporter. He also wrote the post-apocalyptic Christian fantasy series The Chiveis Trilogy and several non-fiction works about early Christian history and belief.
