The uprising of 1294 spreads across Wales and Caernarfon Castle falls to the rebels. Welsh warlords attack English settlements and unfinished fortresses while Edward I gathers the forces needed to restore control.

Garyn remains imprisoned with execution close and the sword of Macsen in danger of passing to the king. His survival becomes tied to the wider revolt as Edward's castle network turns from a symbol of conquest into the principal battlefield.
