Miryam of Magdala is a prosperous wife and mother until violence by Roman soldiers destroys her family and confidence in ordinary justice. Her attempt to answer wrong with wrong drives her into isolation and mental darkness, from which Yeshua restores her without erasing the memory of what happened.
Healing does not immediately produce forgiveness. As Miryam follows Jesus, she continues pursuing accountability through dangerous channels and must decide whether vengeance can coexist with the life she has received. The novel gives Mary Magdalene a fictional domestic past while grounding her transformation, discipleship and witness in the Gospel movement towards crucifixion and resurrection.
