King, Ship, and Sword

by Dewey Lambdin Book 16 in the Alan Lewrie Naval Adventures series.

First published 2010

4.3(2,430)

The Peace of Amiens leaves Alan Lewrie ashore in December 1801 with no clear place in civilian life. A reconciliation with Caroline leads to a second honeymoon in Paris, but political hostility and Lewrie’s own enemies turn the visit into a flight from France.

When war resumes in May 1803, Lewrie receives a new frigate and returns to active service. The campaign is no longer merely professional: the danger faced in Paris has made his conflict with French agents personal, and he uses his renewed command to pursue those responsible.
