Damian Seeker

The Damian Seeker series follows the feared intelligence officer who serves Oliver Cromwell during the Commonwealth and Protectorate. Beginning in London in 1654, Seeker investigates murders and conspiracies among soldiers, lawyers, religious radicals, Royalist exiles and government spies, using the authority of Cromwell’s guard while concealing his own origins.

Across six books, the series moves through Yorkshire and Bruges before returning to England after the Restoration. The cases trace the instability of the Protectorate, repeated plots against Cromwell and the pursuit of former republicans under Charles II, with Seeker’s loyalty to the state increasingly tested by his responsibility to friends and family.
