French Resistance

The French Resistance series, originally issued as Alan Savage, follows British intelligence officer James Barron and the de Gruchy sisters from the German invasion of 1940 to the liberation campaign of 1944. A wealthy wine family is scattered into resistance, collaboration, imprisonment and clandestine service after Barron escapes through Dunkirk and joins the SOE.

Liane, Amalie and Madeleine occupy different positions inside the occupation, making loyalty difficult to judge from appearances alone. Escape lines, assassination, compromised plans and German infiltration lead towards D-Day, while Barron’s love for Liane makes professional control impossible to separate from the survival of the family he has recruited.
