Mette Holm

Mette Holm is a historical novelist of Danish heritage whose fiction concentrates on late medieval England and the final generations of Plantagenet rule. Before becoming a novelist, she developed her storytelling skills through education and her work as an independent business owner and copywriter. Her particular interest lies in the courts of Richard II, Henry IV and Henry V, where dynastic uncertainty, noble rivalries and disputed loyalties provide the basis for her political and military narratives.

Holm is best known for the Mowbray Chronicles, which follows successive members of the fictional Mowbray family through court intrigue, rebellion, warfare and changes of monarchy. The sequence begins with At the King’s Command and continues through Court of Deadly Whispers, Web of Lies, Legacy of Kings, The Rogue’s Son and Deeds of Deceit; Shield of Blood is a related standalone novel. The books move from the troubled reign of Richard II through the Lancastrian accession and into the court of Henry V, combining fictional family secrets with documented political events and historical rulers.
