The Ottoman Cycle

The Ottoman Cycle follows the Greek brothers Skiouros and Lykaion after conscription separates them within the recently conquered city of Constantinople. One escapes into the streets while the other enters the Janissaries, placing their relationship on opposite sides of the political and religious order created by Mehmed II and inherited by Bayezid II.

Skiouros’s search for justice becomes a journey through Crete, Spain, the Atlantic, Italy and the Ottoman capital. The series connects the Cem succession crisis, Sephardic exile, Mediterranean warfare and Borgia Rome, while asking how conquest changes identity and whether vengeance can restore a life divided by empire.
