Pedro de Alvarado was a Spanish conquistador who served under Hernán Cortés in Mexico and later led campaigns in Guatemala and Central America. He was associated with the massacre at the Templo Mayor, severe colonial violence and the suppression of Indigenous resistance, and died during operations connected to the Mixtón War.
