Francisco Tenamaztle was an Indigenous Caxcan leader who became one of the principal commanders of the Mixtón War against Spanish rule in New Galicia. Francisco Tenamaztle is generally dated to died 1556.
After years of resistance he eventually surrendered, was taken to Spain and argued his case before imperial authorities with support from Bartolomé de las Casas. Francisco Tenamaztle was born in Nochistlán de Mejía and died in Valladolid.
