Vicious Circle

Hector Cross has attempted to leave private warfare behind, but a violent attack on his family carries the methods of an organisation he has encountered before. He abandons his new life and begins tracing those responsible. The attack is designed to exploit Cross’s grief and to force him into a pursuit where personal vengeance can be manipulated by organised terrorism.

The pursuit moves across borders and criminal networks, where revenge repeatedly conflicts with the need to protect surviving relatives. Cross discovers that the immediate attackers are part of a more complex struggle involving enemies with personal and strategic motives. Like the other Hector Cross novels, it is a modern security thriller and should not be assigned historical contexts merely because it uses real regions and political tensions.
