In August 1098, the survivors of the First Crusade remain divided by disputes over Antioch and the spoils of conquest. The final approach to the Holy City confronts him with siege warfare, political betrayal and the prospect of mass violence, bringing the trilogy to the capture of Jerusalem in 1099.
