Angela Hunt is an American author whose extensive body of work spans Christian fiction, biblical and historical novels, contemporary suspense, children’s books and nonfiction. After studying English and music at Liberty University, she worked briefly as a teacher before beginning her professional writing career in the 1980s. She has since published more than 175 books and has received honours including a Christy Award and recognition from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. Hunt has also undertaken advanced study in theology and biblical studies, which supports the detailed cultural, religious and political background of her biblical fiction. Her best-known works outside historical fiction include The Tale of Three Trees, The Note, The Debt, The Canopy, The Truth Teller and Uncharted.

Hunt’s historical novels range from medieval Europe and colonial America to ancient Egypt and the biblical world. The Theyn Chronicles begins with Afton of Margate Castle, while the Heirs of Cahira O’Connor series follows successive generations of women connected to a legendary Irish warrior. Keepers of the Ring traces the settlement of early America through Roanoke, Jamestown, Hartford, Rehoboth and Charles Towne, and Legacies of the Ancient River is set in ancient Egypt. Her biblical series include Dangerous Beauty—novels about Esther, Bathsheba and Delilahthe Silent Years books set between the Old and New Testaments, Jerusalem Road, which depicts people connected with Jesus and his family, and the Emissaries trilogy, set among the earliest Christian communities. Her newer Matriarchs series begins with Rescued Heart, a novel about Sarah and Abraham, while standalone biblical novels include Magdalene, The Shadow Women, Risen and Paul, Apostle of Christ.
