Plotinus

Plotinus taught in Rome and developed a philosophical system centred on the One, Intellect and Soul. His writings were edited by his pupil Porphyry into the Enneads, which became foundational for later Neoplatonic, Christian, Islamic and Renaissance thought.

He belongs in Classical for pages on late antique philosophy, Platonism, mysticism and the transition from classical pagan thought into later intellectual traditions. His work marks one of the major late phases of ancient philosophy.
