Alexander’s Indian Campaign

327–325 BCE

Alexander crossed the Hindu Kush and campaigned through the regions of the Indus and Punjab. His army fought local rulers, stormed fortified settlements and defeated King Porus at the Hydaspes.

At the Hyphasis River, exhausted Macedonian troops refused to march farther east. Alexander accepted the decision and turned south, combining river operations with further fighting before reaching the Indian Ocean.

The Persian Boy follows the campaign through Bagoas's perspective, showing both Alexander's military ambition and the growing resistance of men who had already crossed most of the known world.
