Devil May Care
In 1967 James Bond is recalled to duty when British intelligence traces a growing narcotics trade to Julius Gorner, an industrialist whose influence reaches far beyond ordinary organised crime. Bond’s investigation takes him from London and Paris towards Iran, where Gorner’s operations conceal a wider plan directed against Britain and its allies.
Written as a continuation of Ian Fleming’s Bond novels, the story restores the Cold War world of secret services, private aircraft, casinos and geopolitical rivalry. Bond must work out how Gorner’s commercial empire connects drugs, weapons and political destabilisation before the scheme can be put into action.
