Dangerous Beauty

Dangerous Beauty retells the lives of Esther, Bathsheba and Delilah, three biblical women whose beauty places them close to male power and exposes them to danger. Each novel reconstructs a distinct ancient court or conflict while giving the woman at its centre a private history, divided loyalties and choices that the biblical text leaves largely unexplained.

The series treats beauty neither as simple privilege nor as moral guilt. Esther must risk a crown to protect her people, Bathsheba lives with the consequences of a king’s abuse of power, and Delilah pursues security through betrayal. Christian faith, covenant, repentance and providence materially shape the novels’ interpretations of their stories.
