Dolley Madison

Dolley Madison was the wife of James Madison and an important organiser of political society in Washington. As First Lady she used receptions and personal networks to bring rivals together, and during the War of 1812 she left the White House shortly before British troops entered the capital.

Dolley Madison also held the offices or ranks of First Lady of the United States. Dolley Madison belonged to the Madison family and operated within United States. Dolley Madison was born in Guilford County, North Carolina and died in Washington, D.C..
