The Mistress of Ashmore Castle
In 1903, Giles leaves England to resume his archaeological work in Egypt, abandoning Kitty with their infant son and the burden of governing Ashmore Castle. Still uncertain of her husband’s love, Kitty must keep the household functioning and prove that she can become its true mistress, even while concealing a disturbing secret of her own.
