During the opening months of 1967, Jackman’s platoon and its ARVN partners are sent to Long Sơn Island, a strategically placed gateway towards the Mekong Delta. A fortified Viet Cong force has turned the island into a network of ambush positions, sniper hides and concealed approaches. Clearing it requires the allied troops to fight through terrain where every village, waterway and ridge may conceal another defensive position.
