Retired bank manager Henry Pulling meets his elderly Aunt Augusta at his mother’s funeral and is drawn into a life entirely unlike his quiet existence cultivating dahlias. Their journeys through Europe and beyond force Henry to abandon the moral categories and routines that have protected him from experience.
