Thu’s Houses

Thu’s Houses follows an ambitious healer from the village of Aswat into the court of Ramesses III and then into the consequences of the Harem Conspiracy. House of Dreams charts Thu’s education, her entry into the royal household and her growing involvement with officials who intend to alter the succession through poison and political manipulation.

House of Illusions begins years after Thu’s disgrace, when the young officer Kamen accepts a box containing her account and becomes the target of men who need the old conspiracy to remain buried. The two novels connect court ambition to family identity, asking whether truth and justice remain possible after power has rewritten the official version of events.
