The Love Knot
In 1140, Oliver Pascal finds a village devastated by mercenaries and rescues Catrin, a young widow, together with a boy whose royal parentage makes him politically dangerous. He escorts them to Robert of Gloucester’s household at Bristol, a centre of Empress Matilda’s resistance.
