History in the Making

History in the Making is a collaborative anthology series combining essays, interviews and shorter narrative pieces by a range of historians and writers. Never Surrender surveys decisive people and episodes of the Second World War, while Spy Masters ranges more widely across the history and literature of espionage from the ancient world to the modern intelligence services.

The two volumes are retained in this Ben Macintyre export because he contributes to each, but they are not sole-authored Macintyre books. Never Surrender includes his writing on Colditz, and Spy Masters includes an interview in which he discusses Agent Sonya. Their series relationship therefore represents a publisher anthology sequence rather than a continuing narrative by one author.
