Daniel Nichols Spy Thrillers

The Daniel Nichols Spy Thrillers follow a fictional Royal Navy officer through intelligence operations during the Second World War. Rising Tide begins with the carrier strike on Taranto and moves through Lisbon and the United States towards Pearl Harbor, with Nichols working under the historical Ian Fleming in the Naval Intelligence Division. Hunter Class resumes his career during the Allied invasion of Sicily after his recruitment into 30 Commando.

The series uses real operations, intelligence organisations and wartime technology as the framework for invented missions. Across the two novels Nichols moves from aviation into clandestine work, while Bardos explores the gap between collecting information and convincing institutions to act on it. Ian Fleming provides the strongest historical continuity, linking Naval Intelligence with the specialist commando unit that hunted enemy documents, codes and equipment.
