Historical person
Malcolm III of Scotland
Malcolm III, known as Malcolm Canmore, was king of Scots from 1058 to 1093. He defeated Macbeth’s successor and established a dynasty that strengthened ties between Scotland, England and continental reform movements.
His marriage to Margaret of Wessex connected the Scottish court to the displaced Anglo-Saxon royal family. Malcolm repeatedly invaded northern England and was killed at Alnwick during one of these campaigns.
