Ahuitzotl was the eighth ruler of Tenochtitlan and governed the Aztec Empire from 1486 to 1502. He expanded imperial power through major campaigns, oversaw the enlargement and dedication of the Templo Mayor, and strengthened tribute networks shortly before the reign of Moctezuma II.
