The Battle of Grunwald, also known as Tannenberg, was fought in 1410 between the Teutonic Order and the allied forces of Poland and Lithuania. The battle was one of the largest of medieval Europe and dealt a severe blow to the order’s military prestige. Although the order survived, its power was permanently weakened.
