Book
The Fourth Queen
In 1539, former prioress Marris North enters the household of Anna of Cleves as Henry VIII prepares to take his fourth wife. Anna arrives in England isolated and vulnerable, and Marris becomes one of the few women she can trust as the marriage collapses and the queen must negotiate a safe future under a dangerous king. A present-day Oxfordshire storyline echoes the Tudor plot through buried memory, archaeology and a woman confronting a past that seems disturbingly familiar.
