Book
The Arcadian
In sixteenth-century Iberia, the apparently ageless former mercenary Telamon lives as a blade sharpener until Portuguese soldiers descend upon an Andalusian community. A young woman named Mariah becomes bound to him through a mysterious horse and a recurring pattern of lives, loyalties and betrayals that reaches beyond their immediate conflict.
As invasion threatens the city and countryside around them, Telamon is forced back into the violence he has tried to escape. The novel combines early modern warfare with a supernatural cycle of rebirth, asking whether a warrior condemned to fight across centuries can achieve justice, redemption and release from his past.
