In 1315 BCE, the Hittite king Mursili is warned in a dream that his newborn son Hattu will bring bloodshed and destruction upon the royal house. The prophecy condemns the boy to a lonely childhood while Egypt, Assyria, Ahhiyawa and the Hittites compete for power and the Kaskan tribes gather on Hatti’s northern frontier.
When invasion reaches the kingdom, Hattu is drawn into danger and given a chance to prove that he is more than the disaster foretold at his birth. His search for honour begins a struggle between family rejection, royal duty and the fear that every victory may be carrying him closer to Ishtar’s prediction.
