The Wrath of Ivar
Frankia, 866. Hunted by Ivar the Boneless, Hundr and the crew of the Seaworm leave the war in England and join Viking forces campaigning in Brittany and Frankia. Their alliance with Haesteinn and Bjorn Ironside offers plunder and protection, but it also draws them deeper into conflict with Frankish armies and Ivar's pursuit. Hundr must keep his crew together while confronting the consequences of the feud that follows him across the sea.
Frankia offers Hundr distance from England but not from Viking politics. Haesteinn and Bjorn Ironside have ambitions of their own, and joining their campaigns gives the Seaworm crew protection only so long as their interests coincide.
Ivar’s pursuit turns every alliance into a calculation of risk. Hundr must preserve the loyalty of men who expect plunder while preventing a personal feud from consuming the whole war band. The novel presents Viking campaigning as a mobile political world in which enemies, employers and allies can change between one coast and the next.
