The Swiss Spy
On the eve of the Second World War Henry Hunter is intercepted by British intelligence and drawn into a complicated existence of competing identities and spymasters. Operating from neutral Switzerland, he undertakes increasingly dangerous missions into Nazi Germany while trying to protect secrets from his own past.
The fictional story moves towards 1941 against the historical background of German preparations for Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union. Switzerland’s role as a neutral intelligence crossroads and the preparations for the eastern war are historical; Hunter, his missions and the personal betrayals surrounding him are inventions.
