The Second Traitor
September 1940. With German invasion preparations visible across the Channel, British intelligence fears not only Operation Sea Lion but also a network of British and Irish Nazi collaborators known as the Group. Charles Cooper is brought into an invasion-warning organisation and tasked with helping identify the men who might assist the Wehrmacht from inside Britain.
At the same time, the hunt for the Soviet traitor Archie intensifies and evidence suggests that another compromised agent is also operating. Gerlis places his fictional intelligence struggle within the documented invasion scare after the fall of France and the Battle of Britain. The German invasion plan is historical; the Group, Cooper and the double-agent investigation are fictional.
