Michael Francis O’Dwyer

1864–1940

Michael Francis O'Dwyer was Lieutenant-Governor of the Punjab during the unrest and Jallianwala Bagh Massacre of 1919.

O'Dwyer oversaw Punjab during the wartime and post-war security regime and supported Dyer’s action at Jallianwala Bagh; he was assassinated by Udham Singh in London in 1940.
