Bletchley Park Codebreaking

1939–1945 CE

The Government Code and Cypher School brought mathematicians, linguists, clerks, engineers and service personnel to Bletchley Park. Their work attacked German and Italian cipher systems, including Enigma and Lorenz.

Women formed the majority of the workforce and served in codebreaking, interception, indexing, machine operation and administration. Strict secrecy continued long after the war.

The Rose Code follows three fictional women whose friendship and betrayal develop alongside the pressure and secrecy of Bletchley's work.
