The Philippine–American War is an accessible non-fiction account of american Colonial Conquest after the Spanish–American War. It establishes the causes, chronology and principal phases of the conflict while explaining the political aims and military resources of the opposing sides.
The book places campaigns and leadership within their wider setting, including diplomacy, civilian experience, economic pressure and the settlement or memory that followed. Its historical scope is represented on HBS by Philippine–American War, 1899–1902.
